Quilts
Quilts make the difference between freezing and comfort. They insulate and keep your heat where it should be. Down insulated equipment is an investment which , if taken care of can last years and be passed along. Quality work and craftsmanship make it a well worthwhile investment. Durability and Dependability. In addition to an underquilt, consider an Under Quilt Protector to keep the wind and water out of your quilt to ensure you stay warm in the cooler temperatures. You may also consider adding extra down to your quilt referred to as ‘Overstuff’ It will be added evenly throughout the baffles or along specific baffles if you so choose.
Quilt care is important. Make sure you always dry your equipment out after use (hang dry) and don’t store the quilts compressed. It is best to store in a pillow case / mesh bag or hung up in your closet. In the event your quilt needs to be washed do not dry clean your gear. Use a down specific detergent, hand wash and you can hang dry flat, but be careful since your quilt may be heavy with water and cause damage to the fabric and internal baffles. So in recap. NEVER Store your down quilts in the compression/stuff sacks. Ever.
Enjoy the outdoors.
