Toaster TopQuilt – Insulated Footbox

Description

The Toaster topquilt favors the super cold feet with an insulated and sewn closed footbox.

Designed with vertical baffles and an internal baffle gate. The vertical baffle design keeps the down from shifting/moving off your shoulders creating cold spots. It keeps the down where you need it, keeping you warm.  The baffle ‘gate’ near the knees/hips allows you shift the down towards the footbox where it can help keep the feet more insulated. This can be beneficial if you are using a colder weather quilt in the warmer temperatures and want to cool certain areas off more / or allow them to be warmer. Around the feet the baffles create a cozy warm footbox.

The sewn in insulated foot box is for those people who need a bit extra to keep your feet warm. It is baffled just like the body of the quilt to keep the down in place. It doesn’t require the bottom to be cinched (Serratus) instead being closed always.

Premium Natural Canadian sourced ‘unbleached’ white down. (No down from China)

4. Down Fill – Premium Canadian Sourced  Canadian Hutterite White Down. 
   • 900+ Fill Power Canadian White Goose Down (WGD)
     • lightens the quilt slightly and a bit better compressibility than a lower fill power down.
   • 800+ Fill Power Canadian White Duck Down (WDD)
5. Neck Draft Collar – optional
   • A small draft collar to keep heat from escaping from around the neck. Handy on those colder nights.
   • With warmer weather quilts it might be overkill and harder to vent.
   • Will add an 1-1.5 oz to final weight
   • Can be added in the quilt options menu
6. Loops / clips (2)
   • All quilts come with pad attachment clips (2) plus one strap.
   • You can another strap in the Quilt Options Menu
   • Clips attach to corresponding clips on the elastic cord around the pad.
7. FootBox – Insulated Footbox
   • Sewn 25″ from bottom up to form the footbox combined with an insulated end.
   • End is in Black
   • insulated footbox adds an additional 1.3 oz to final weight (listed below)
8. Fabric
   • FAQ : Softest inner layer fabric is the black 10D taffeta
   • 10D / 15D  fabric options available
   • 10D Variety of Colors in a ripstop /mini-ripstop / taffeta. Excellent calendared fabric with great DWR Coating. Lightweight and most compressible of all the fabrics.
   • 15D A bit more durability than the 10D in a ripstop with the same great DWR and Calendaring.
